1. That is an interesting stairway. I looks like lots of fun I wonder if they bent the rebar. Just down the street from me is a house is being built that has generated much discussion because they used an incredible amount of rebar. It generated considerable discussion —its on the way to a walking path so people stopped landlocked . I think I made some photos of it. The contractor said it was 3x the amount of the average house in this neighborhood. It all came on a big truck with special machinery to unload. The workers were bending it and shaping it for days.

2. I’m guessing there was lots of thin rebar that could follow that curve. You prompted me to go looking for any construction photos, but only found a written history that talked about changes that were made over the years until the government owned the whole compound and decided to scrape away all the changes and restore it to the original 1930 footprints. This included rebuilding this stair.
