About 12 years I went to Alameda to get an appraisal from a auction house which was in the same area—It was a military base at one time. probably WWII, but it was shut down for a long time and discovered a bunch of abandoned,decaying buildings, beautiful colors of discolored paint, rusting, and in a state of general decay. I ended up walked around for about 4 hours just fascinated by the visuals. I keep meaning to go back.
